i don’t get the 42 reference it it because Douglas Adams made his first Monty Python appearance, in full surgeon’s garb in episode 42.

The reference is from Adams’ book, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I don’t want to explain it, because that would give away one of the book’s best jokes. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.
