Sorry this page is 67 weeks late. Things got real crazy at work.
Actually, as you probably know, we took some time off to develop a new project. That project didn’t come together, and we finally decided we needed to get back to The Specialists, and here we are. We’re thrilled to be back, and excited to get the story going again!
Now, there’s a very simple reason that we tried to change things up last year, and it’s something that pretty much all webcomic creators deal with: burnout. Churning out a new page week after week is a ton of work, and it’s exhausting. We want to make sure we can complete our story, so we’re making some adjustments to reduce the chance of burnout. We’ll be returning to a weekly schedule, but we’ll also be taking frequent breaks. For every three to five pages we publish, we’ll take a week off. We’ll try to have something for you in those off weeks; maybe some guest art or some fun little bit of fluff. We’ll also try to work the off weeks in between scenes, to minimize disruption to the story, and we’ll also let you know when they’re coming up. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We need to focus on sustainability, and we know you’ll understand. Our first off week will be November 11th.
