Ink Outbreak is a new webcomic aggregator that helps you find new comics and keep up with the ones you like. It’s certainly not the first site if its kind, but it has some interesting features that I haven’t seen before.

If you’re a webcomic fan, give it a look, and don’t forget to add us to your list of favorites (clicking the counter below kills two birds with one stone!).

A Little Nazi Humor, Part Zwei

The portrayal of Nazis has been a topic of discussion in the comments lately, so it was apropos that the A.V. Club published this article yesterday, containing a list of fifteen attempts to derive humor from mocking Hitler. For some people — maybe a lot of people — Hitler and the Nazis are simply inappropriate subjects of comedy. But I think that humor is a great way to deal with the memory of that hated regime. We can mock the Nazis without making light of their horrific deeds.

The article I linked above is worth a look. Most of the videos they list are funny and/or interesting (the Donald Duck cartoon is a fascinating example of anti-Nazi propaganda), and they all include the A.V. Club’s usual brilliant commentary. But if you don’t have time for the full article, check out my favorite videos below.

Independence Day and the End of Chapter 1

First of all, for those who observe it, happy Independence Day! We hope you have a safe and fun holiday.

Secondly, today’s page brings a close to our first chapter! Now that we’ve laid a lot of the groundwork, the story should really take. We’ll be introducing several new characters within just a few pages. But first we’re going to take a couple of weeks off. In the meantime, we’ve lined up a couple pieces of amazing guest art.

So have a great Independence Day, check out the guest art over the next two weeks, and then get ready for the first page of chapter 2 on July 25th!

You Can Quote Me On That

What are your favorite quotes from movies, books, comics, etc.? Here are a couple of mine:

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

— Rutgar Hauer as Roy Batty, from Bladerunner

and…

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

–from Douglas Adams’ The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
