The scumbag who stole Mike Meyer’s Superman collection has been caught, and Mike’s stuff has been returned to him. It’s good to see justice served, or at least to see bad guys taken off the street. This piece of filth was caught robbing an old man, so he seems to specialize in taking advantage of the most vulnerable people he can find.
Thanks to donations sent from all over the world, Mike’s collection has doubled in size. But rather than reaping the unexpected benefits of his misfortune, he intends to give the donated items to charity or a children’s hospital. He said, “People were generous to me; this is how I can be generous in return.” Then he flew away before anyone could thank him, and was last seen heading north.
After re-reading the first four of George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire books and then the new fifth book, I was kind of exhausted. That’s close to 5,000 pages of very dense story. I started re-reading the first Wildcards book, which was recently re-released, but it wasn’t holding my attention, and I haven’t touched my Nook for a couple of weeks, which is just as well, because I haven’t had much time.
So what have you been reading lately? Any good?
(Speaking of Game of Thrones, congratulations to Peter Dinklage on his best supporting actor Emmy!)
