The Specialists

It’s fun to think of super-soldiers with enhanced strength or bulletproof skin or the ability to fly. But in the real world, our soldiers all have the same super-power: extraordinary courage. And it doesn’t come from a radioactive bug bite or a bolt of lightning, but from each individual’s inborn strength, tempered by a strong sense of duty and the finest training available.

Heroes Fallen Studios is a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide comfort and support for veterans and their families. They raise money through sales of their graphic novel, Untold Stories of Iraq and Afghanistan, pictured at right. This volume collects several real stories as told by the soldiers who lived them. You can buy the book here for just $10 (price as of this writing).

There is a second volume of the book in the works now and if all goes according to plan, Al and I will be contributing to it. We’ll keep you posted as to our progress (and maybe sneak you a few peeks) here. In the meantime, pick up the first volume. It’s a good book and the money goes to a worthy cause. You can’t go wrong!
