Independence Day and the End of Chapter 1
First of all, for those who observe it, happy Independence Day! We hope you have a safe and fun holiday.
Secondly, today’s page brings a close to our first chapter! Now that we’ve laid a lot of the groundwork, the story should really take. We’ll be introducing several new characters within just a few pages. But first we’re going to take a couple of weeks off. In the meantime, we’ve lined up a couple pieces of amazing guest art.
So have a great Independence Day, check out the guest art over the next two weeks, and then get ready for the first page of chapter 2 on July 25th!

You guys are doing a really good job of portraying the Nazis here. They’re undeniably all a bunch of racist s, but they’re still -human-, not the unconcsionable, immoral monstrosities they’re usually depicted at.
NB: I’m not backing the Nazis here, it’s just nice to see a new take 😛
Don’t worry, Rogahar, no one thinks you’re a Nazi sympathizer!
It’s tricky to write about the Nazis. They’re so reviled that the instinct is to portray them simply as monsters, but that would be both unrealistic and uninteresting. Nazism was monstrous. Nazis were people who subscribed to a monstrous philosophy, but most people can’t be defined by a single aspect of their personality.
Kapitan Deutschland. Oof. I guess we should seen that coming. Great job guys!
Thanks, Kaisius!
Great stuff, man! Just caught up with this and really like what I see.
One minor nitpick, and it truly is small- Hitler hated smoking and refused to allow it to happen in his presence. Like I said, though, just a little thing.
Thanks, Corsican!
Since this is the end of the scene, let’s just assume that in the next panel, Hitler would have said, “Yes, Herr Doktor, that’s very good. Now put out that damned cigarette!”
