Interesting theory! Time will tell, but I will say that you’re certainly correct that Goetz manages the public image of the team with an iron fist.

At this point, the only active participants in the war are Germany, the US, the UK, and the USSR, and the latter is barely holding on. There are also still resistance movements in France and some other Nazi-occupied areas. Only the US and the Nazis have super-soldiers. Question Mark is English, but he’s more of a super-spy.

In reply to bobthe6th. Well, no one realizes that Max is inside the Golem. They think it's an autonomous robot, which is what he had been trying to create. But most likely, Luke isn't even aware of that much. He's probably heard something about some kid showing up, and he's just sick of the whole mess. Hightower and Goetz already put two women and a spoiled rich-boy civilian on the team, and now they're bringing in a pencil-necked kid. What's next, some sort of Nazi monster man?

Just saying, he’s telling this to the kid who will fight in powered armor… Bullets will bounce of it a lot. There is stuff at this point to deal with it, but not a lot of it.

Cap has legitimate point, war is a great backdrop for fanciful stories. But we must alway remember the harsh reality of it.
I can’t help but wonder what kind of person the captain is beneath the gritty exterior.
Great comic, I look forward to further updates.

Jansen strongly reminds me of a lot of Chiefs that I served under, getting the pretty crap out of the way to remind you that this is real life, not a four-color fantasy. Max is getting it the hard way, but better that than to think bullets don’t hurt.
