Yes, we realize that women did not serve in combat roles in WWII, but we wanted the team to have some female members. You’ll also see that not everyone approves of their presence on the team.

Also, when I attribute eugenics to the Germans and nuclear weapons to the US, I’m referring to programs that are most commonly associated with them in the context of WWII. Although Germany is not the only country to ever practice eugenics, they were the only ones whose eugenics program was a major factor in the war. And though other countries were developing nuclear weapons technology, the US is the only country to have actually used one (in an attack) during the war.

It must be remembered that from our Revolutionary war onward women were forbidden to actively and openly fight. (Didn’t stop some of them from doing so including dressed as men.)

Also it has been found that the Japanese Empire had an active nuclear bomb program and succeeded! (Detonated one in Manchuko in 1945.) But it was too late to use it as a weapon—no delivery system.

Well, I’m sorry, Brandon. Like I said, we’re not trying to minimize anyone else’s involvement in the war. In fact, once the story moves into Europe, there will be plenty of non-American Allied combatants. I just meant that for the purposes of our story, we’re focusing on Germany and the US, mainly for the sake of simplicity. Japan and Italy have also been removed from the Axis side of the equation.

But I think you’re probably right about Canada not getting enough credit when it comes to military matters. Maybe that’s just because Canada doesn’t have a history of saber rattling and chest thumping military aggression. The US never lets anyone forget that we’re here, and some countries think of us as a global bully. Canada fights when it needs to, but doesn’t make a big deal about it.

I just find the part about only America and Germany being in the war, when America only came in late during the war, and a lot of the fights that were won were because of Canadian troops (as well as Finland, who had very large numbers surprisingly, never would’ve thought). I wish someone would do something like this for the Canadians. D: We’re like the Martian Man Hunter of the world, we do the job but we get no accolades.
