The only masochistic tendency I see here with Henry is that he still wants to be accepted by his father. Sadly, even Adolf Hitler and his main men were better family types than Henry Senior. So cut short in his emotional development, he doesn’t even have sadistic tendencies – that’s just the little bullied kid trying to bully back at (perceived) lesser people. All of that is destined to fail. The father has to die in an unhonorable way (collaborateur of the Axis maybe?) and fall down from the pedestral of awe and fear Henry put him up. Only then has the son a chance to break in the right manner to pull himself together into a better person through finally LEARNING because he is caught in a cycle of failure (aside his sportive accolades). I doubt that the fire and anvil of continued combat action will do anything good for him – maybe creating an outer shell of hardness and loathing but more likely a complete breakdown in the face of tremendious danger. Walküre would be my favorite to belittle Henry in combat – but I fear that he would be even unworthy to combat for that ancient spirit.

If this is a theme going on this way, I see replacements for Henry on deploy day. Because “rolling out” looks stupid in a hospital bed.

How about setting the joints to “accidentally” bend the wrong way?
