In the case quoted, it was saying “What else is there?” when she asked “Is beauty all that matters to you.” Not much setup at all.

I dunno. That always needs a awfull lot of setup:
Being a superspy. Having a hidden Telepathic superheroine. Having a supervillain that can take over people.

hence the term “I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy”.

As far as Bennett’s possible rehabilitation goes, the only factor Bennett’s actions depend on is what Al and Shawn have planned. ^^

Perhaps, but if there is a concern about Bennett hurting Agnes physically, I think she is more than capable of handling herself.

In a strange way, what Geist did to Bennett may have positive consequences. We all know the Bennett was a victimizer, but having fresh experiences as a victim may cause him to re-examine his world view. This is by no means guaranteed and Bennett could certainly just use his experiences as a victim to further justify hurting others instead, but such depends on a number of factors.

… which is as close to “nice” as many people get 😉

If I remember correctly(and I could be wrong, it’s been a while) it wasn’t a case of being ‘too nice’, but rather a case of not being an asshole. I think Bennett didn’t say much or do much on the trip back to base after the mission and that’s one of the things that clued Mark into what happened.

I don’t think it’s so much the case of the end justifying the means as rather that Mark has zero sympathy with Bennet, (remember Bennet being too NICE is what clued him in to Geist), and what has him dumbfounded is that Agnes CAN feel sympathy for someone that he sees as deserving of nothing more than contempt.
