Damn, I've caught up! Just started reading this comic a couple of days ago. I knew this point would come, it always does when you start a new webcomic, but still... I want more, now! lol

Loving the book, I love stories that balance realism with the fantastic, and you're doing a wonderful job of it. Look forward to more to come!

In reply to Jason Moon.

It's not Jimbo (sadly, Jimbo died in a freak accident when he was trapped inside a giant novelty cake he was going to jump out of as a gag for a fellow soldier's bachelor party; this will all be detailed in Jimbo's Story: A Tragedy, a spin-off book that will never exist).

I can see why some people are thinking this is a flashback, but it's not. This battle takes place after Chapter 5. So Lady Liberty is known, but no soldier outside of the members of Special Company has seen her on the battlefield.

Also, you are correct, Project Athena occurred right after Project Ares, so Luke got his powers first.

Guess it's not Luke's backstory. Oh, well. Unless Lady Liberty came out first(which I doubt because the impression I always got was that the project that made her started after or at about the same time as Captain Victory's did. I personally don't see that happening due to the extreme risks involved and the lack of knowledge the military would have about atomic/human experimentation that early in the attempts to make a supersoldier).

Just a thought, was that soldier "Jimbo" from an earlier chapter. "Jimbo" was the soldier who approached Agnes right before she encountered Mark and realized that she couldn't read his mind("Jimbo" was the soldier who was trying to work up the courage to say 'hi' to Agnes, but chickened out) I could see how meeting her like this would impress him enough to want to talk to her.
(For the record, it occurred to me that some would say that it's not "Jimbo" because this guy has a girlfriend/wife named Constance and would not be trying to make a date with Agnes because of that. You could be right, but saying 'hi' and making a date are two different things. After all, he could have been wanting to thank her for saving his life. He also could have been attracted to her and been considering dating her despite the fact that he would have been cheating on his girlfriend/wife. Constance could also just be his sister)

I am curious however to learn if Lady Liberty's existence was known at the time of this battle or not. After all, not knowing who she is would make his initial reaction that "she was an angel" that more profound and impactful.
