Sometimes they are. Or sometimes the enemy is reluctant of being YOUR enemy.
My grandpa was with the Wehrmacht because HOMELAND! but not happy about the Nazi shit. The only positive thing for him about his war time was that he did not kill people, not even a single enemy soldier. He captured a downed British pilot, not even drawing a gun on him and they had tea – that’s it with his merits of war.

Haha, my Grandpa and Grandma wrote letters back and forth during WW2, but when he got home he was too shy to ask her to marry him. Girls are scarier than Germans I guess.
She was so frustrated she burned all his letters! Worked out eventually though! 😉

I know. It is a shame that a lot of decent folks have to sift through such BULLS#*T to say something real. It sucks that some of the most tawdry, banal, sexist, idiotic dialogue is also the most popular. Especially back during the time of the comic, when stag magazines with names like “Manly Adventures for Manly Men” were common.

He’s even worse at nasty tricks. Calling Chuck Randall from the Washington Beacon every time he’s humiliated will MASSIVELY bite him in the ass, especially when the others start noticing a pattern:
1. Henry gets humiliated/embarrassed.
2. The next day, slanderous articles appear in the Washington Beacon.

Hmmm… Granted, his chastisement at the hands of Agnes never was connected with the story Randall ran the next day, but that won’t last(‘Course SHE knows about it, but her telepathy gives her an advantage in that department). He’s bound to screw this up in grand style, and he’s so busy congratulating himself on his trickery that he probably doesn’t see that he’s backing himself into a corner. All he sees is his self-justifying behavior of trickery: people don’t like/worship me, so treating them like dirt is OK. He doesn’t see the other end of that flawed reasoning: to wit, the reason WHY he is not liked/worshiped is because he treats people like dirt.

He doesn’t want people to just be his friends, he wants to be their ONLY and BEST friend. Since people won’t even go THAT far, he acts like a jerk and this alienates him even further.

Man, trapped in a cage of his own making. All he can do is run in circles.
