Well, this puts the Cap in an interesting position. While it is indeed his right and duty to take Hartmann out if he becomes a threat to the team or to innocents, we’ve already seen that he harbors a deep distrust of the Beast. This distrust is not entirely unwarranted, due to Loewe being an ex-Nazi, but he doesn’t know Loewe(sorry, I couldn’t resist 🙂 )as we do.

Also, this decision will very likely take place in the heat of combat. In such a situation, it would be easy to misconstrue the actions of Hartmann as hostile. When judged by someone who’s already predisposed to distrust him or his motives, the probability of a “friendly fire” incident increases.

It is likewise a relief to see that Hightower is still able to reign in his dementia and command the team. I can only hope it lasts.
