In reply to David T. Shaw. Hmm. Interesting speculation! But actually, the explosives shown here are meant to be the ones placed by Metzger's men. I hadn't pictured them as being permanently-mounted explosives, thought that probably would have made sense.

The other comment I have about this page is that the explosives on the ground are probably from Special Company (they don’t look permanent enough to be the Asylum’s demo charges.
We saw Bennett’s squad searching part of the facility (I assume others were searching the other areas since they (1) wanted the Doctor, and (2) they were to free the prisoners). That implies that some GI (oh, please let it be Bennett) saw Hartmann lying there, thought ‘Good Riddance’ and left the room and started the bomb in the hallway.
And won’t that make the internal dynamics in the company even more interesting? 8)

Hi,
Just archive-binged and I love the ideas explored in the comic and Al’s artwork.
Have lots of thoughts, but I’ll save most of them when the next page comes out.
For this page, I agree that the timer needs a minute hand – it looks like the maximum that it can be set for at present is only 60 (or maybe 59 seconds).
As well, the 5, 10, 15 numbers on the clock face look too modern for me. I suppose that it could have come from a stop watch, but it seems off to me (maybe I haven’t watched enough WW II commando movies?). At any rate, it does allow the reader to know exactly how much time is left.

Yeah, it’s not completely unreadable, but it could be a lot better. For one thing, I want to make it so that people don’t have to stretch and pinch to get the optimum size. There are ways to make the site resize automatically. I could also make it so that the sidebars move below the comic on smaller displays, so that the comic page can stretch to fit the screen width, and enable right and left swiping for page navigation.

I also want to add an automatic bookmarking system, for readers who are reading through the archive for the first time, or for those who only come back every couple of months. And a better way to get new readers up to speed, if they don’t want to read through hundreds of pages of archives. Anyway, there are lots of ways the site can be improved. I just need to clear the time to do it!

FWIW, Shawn, I just brought up the comic on my phone and it worked pretty well. Bit upper-left corner but a quick pinch-zoom to full screen was no problem, and most comics I’ve encountered need that. Better than, say, Girl Genius (which uses a ratio that doesn’t quite fit the screen) or Supernormal Step (which uses a font too tiny to read unless you enlarge the page way past the borders.)

I’ve been doing a bit of research myself, y’see. ‘Cause sometimes I read comics on my phone. Usually while on the toilet. (Okay, TMI, sorry.)

In reply to RTM. Sorry to disappoint, RTM! A lot of people have wondered about the possibility of Russian or Japanese supersoldiers, and while I'm sure we could have a lot of fun with those characters, we have our hands full with the two super-teams we have now!

Hummm, I wonder if the Russians have their own superpowered team of badasses that may or may not eventually pop up? If they do, I’m guessing their name will probably be Bogatyrs or something like that.
