That’s an excellent point, jeff. I generally wouldn’t defend Pvt. Bennett, but in this situation, I think his actions are at least understandable. From his point of view, his comrade was being attacked by something that was, frankly, monstrous. And in the heat of the moment, with the threat of the building about to blow up, his priority is survival above all else. It’s actually kind of surprising that he didn’t just leave Goldman to his fate.
