That’s a good point, especially when you consider that Batman has beaten Superman before, using his ingenuity. And Iron Man 3 proved that Tony Stark could be a pretty formidable badass even outside of his armor.

I’ve never been a believer in the “Batman doesn’t have superpowers” theory – he’s a Billionaire Playboy Captain of Industry, Nobel-level scientist, Olympic-level athlete, 10th-level black belt in every martial art, Edison-level inventor, genius-level detective, etc. etc. all of which he achieved while maintaining a full-time cover story? If a superpower is having ability far beyond what a real human could have, which would seem a reasonable definition, like lifting a truck with one hand, then Batman is several orders of magnitude beyond any real human ability, and therefore superpowered. Although Mark’s resume isn’t quite so absurdly over-the-top as Bruce’s (at least not yet), I suspect his level of badassery/awesomeness still far exceeds what any real human might achieve, and thus qualifies as a legit superpower. For that matter, a teenager having the intellect to single-handedly design and build a giant intelligent battle robot using 1940s technology also easily qualifies. Congrats, guys, you’ve got real superpowers after all! (and you didn’t even have to expose yourselves to deadly radiation to get them)

Problem easily solved: just make the pages twice as long! (As long as I’m going to be unreasonable, I might as well be completely unreasonable….)

The reason I call it a punchline is that Mark doesn’t actually have any superpowers. At least, not in the sense of super-human abilities. In last week’s page, he was trying to convince Max to think of his exceptional intelligence as his “special power,” so here, he’s saying that his own ability to know everyone’s secrets is his.
