Yeah, we're going to sue them for stealing all our ideas!

Seriously, though, there are clearly similarities between our comic and Captain America. Some of them are intentional, since Captain Victory is based on the "patriotic super-soldier" archetype popularized by Captain America. Some are just a byproduct of both stories being set in WWII. And some are simply coincidental.

When we first started working on The Specialists, and developed the way that propaganda would affect our story, we didn't realize that Captain America had gone through a similar episode in his origin story. Certainly, we were aware that the character of Captain America served as a propaganda tool in the real world, but we hadn't realized that in the comic, Steve Rogers was forced to appear in USO shows when all he wanted to do was fight Nazis. When the movie came out, we realized that this would be yet another similarity between Captain Victory and Captain America, but it was too late to change things.

But any similarities are really only skin-deep. Captain Victory and Captain America may both be patriotic super-soldiers, but Luke Jensen and Steve Rogers are very different men.

Yes, specially the scene with the Red Skull opening the box and seeing the Cube. Also Captain America being used for propaganda instead of being send to fight the war. It's like the read the comic.

Are you talking about the scene where he busts the church's wall down and takes the Tesseract from the old man?

Himmler did lead the archaeological efforts to find the spear, so that would make sense. (Though in the world of The Specialists, Baron von Schaedel seems to be Hitler's favorite archaeologist.)

I think Heinrich Himmler has that particular artifact and keeping it close at Wewelsburg (sp?) castle. His castle of the round table of SS 'knights.'

That did come up in our initial story ideas. It's a natural fit, since Hitler was actually fascinated by it in real life. It could come up in the comic at some point, but I'm not sure yet.
