“And if that don’t work … use more guns.”
Holy Batman crossed with Captain America!
How old is Kid Victory?
Our best guess would be that Kid Victory is around 15-16 years old, and tall for his age.
Kid Victory is actually a 45 year old man with a glandular problem. Sssh, he’s sensitive about it. j/k Love the comic, glad to see some of the American heros again. And once again, robots rule. ….oh, and what would he’s name me Wolf? BatCap? Captain Bat?
Nothing so obvious. If he wasn’t a captain, I would go with Major Victory. As it is, Captain Victory seems likely, given the V motif of the uniforms and the fact that Kid Victory is his partner. Captain Bat was already done in a Brave and Bold Batman/Kommandi team up. I should point out that Captain Victory was also done in a Jack Kirby comic for Topps, I think. Promote him to Major, and he’s safe.
Correction: Captain Victory was in PC (Pacific Comics) a brief highlight in comicdom that lasted about a year. That is where the Rocketeer got his start. There was a Captain Victory in “Ink Pen” that changed his name to Captain Victorious to avoid copyright infringment on Kirby’s work. (Yes, I read a LOT of comics.) I just checked and Major Victory is also taken by DC Comics (three different characters) and Marvel Comics as an alternative name for Vance Astro. I’ll keep thinking of workable V names, Major Victory is still workable since multiple comic companies have used it, just like Captain Marvel.
We were aware of Kirby’s Captain Victory. We have a couple of other characters coming up with names that have been used in comics in the past (Lady Liberty, for instance). From what I’ve read, names are not subject to copyright, though they can be trademarked. Before we started the comic, I searched online databases for any trademarks of the names of our characters, and I couldn’t find any. So I think we’re safe (though copyright and trademark issues are pretty thorny, so you never know what might happen). In any case, we’ve tried to avoid trouble, as best we could.
Kool. You do tremendous job, man. Hey, when do we see the Fuzzy Wuzzy again?
Hartmann will be along before too long, but first we have a bunch of new characters to introduce!
I immediately think this is part of a propaganda film. But it is still a great read.
I love the design of Captain Victory! Fun throwback!
Why do I picture Kid Victory played by Woody Allen?
Wow. That’s not the direction we were going for, but I’d love to see that movie!
Oh the Kick-Assery that will ensue shall be monumental!
looking forward to this next chapter.
So many parallels, so often it will come up again. For “The Incredibles” they scouted and searched so they wouldn’t step on copy writes and copy others for their super hero nom de plumes. Maybe Genera “___” should be used as part of the name? Love the artwork and stories. I am a sucker for alternate world stories. Especially such good ones.
Thank you for the kind words, Night-Gaunt!
