Which is worse, Baron Crossbones’ puns, or Captain Victory’s alliteration?
The last time I heard intros like that, they were prefaced by: “And in THIS cornaah….”
That is EXACTLY what I thought of, too!
Captain Victory’s chirpy alliteration. And the fact that chirpy doesn’t begin with ‘a’ doesn’t matter. It’s chirpy. :/
It is even worse than the Baron’s accent, which is pretty bad to me.
Both are awful, but it’s mostly just how bizarre it is to think of Luke and Johann talking like this.
This is obviously out of a comic book…. how meta is that? And, much as I hate to wiegh in on the Nazi’s side… puns at least have the benefit of being over quickly… alliteration just seems to drag.
Plus, I like puns…. DON’THITME!
Most people don’t mind if you LIKE puns, as long as you don’t MAKE any. ^^
Well, I’m a dad… dad-jokes are almost all pun-related… so, you can see where this is going…
Well then, it’s your solemn duty to make puns, so all is forgiven.
Clearly, we comment in different comics in general XD
I don’t always comment, but i see you in quite a few places. ^^
true – I’m just thinking of some…like Sister Claire (Good stuff, yo!) – where, every two or three pages, someone will pun in the comments…and then we’ll all pile in on the theme XD Most epic one I was a part of was a 20-odd string of ungulate/horn puns that was simultaneously dating considerations.
And yes, I am a chatterbox XD
I see both of you around in a lot of the comics that I read. It’s like seeing old friends from a distance at a concert, ballet, or play and wanting to wave; but not wanting to disturb the performance on stage.
We must use vexing verbiage because of juvenile jovialities(“We talk this way because of kids n’shit” ).
Also, whenever I see team intros like this, they remind me of that lame joining sequence from Voltron. I always hear it ending with “…and I’ll form the head!”
Honestly, these people would all be dead by the time Cap shut up.
I think these intros actually took longer than the voltron link-up XD
Did anyone ever ATTACK when Voltron did this? ‘Cause they were VULNERABLE when they did this. It was also something they did EVERY SINGLE F&$KING EPISODE, so it wasn’t like a surprise or anything. Maybe it just a tactic to distract the audience from the fact robot lions are STUPID(IMHO).
In the original series, they did, actually. Pretty memorably, there was a monster so durable it could no-sell a hit from the Blazing Sword – the team, wisely, GTDO’d after sustaining injuries. in the second fight of the episode, the monster tries to stop Voltron’s formation…and has it’s arm melted completely off. (Team then fires missiles into the now vulnerable stump to win). Original Voltron is one of the few shows to give you a good reason not to mess with the transformation.
Those intros are on the same frequency.
I’d be surprised if there wasn’t one big group pose shot afterwards.
Thing is, there is one more introduction to be made – they haven’t intro’d Golem yet. And I think Max is going to throw the comic away when they do. So, while you are right that there should be a group pose, I don’t think we’ll see it the way you are thinking of.
Keep in mind, these pages will come before page 5, so at this point, the Golem hasn’t even had his demo.
Really? Aw, I was looking forward to Max’s look of consternation, horror, and pride XD
To my chagrin, I realized each side actually has five members and my mind went to the traditional Japanese sentai route.
Oh, the pain! The Pain! I think I see why Luke is not a big fan of his comicbooks! 🙂
Ya know, as much as us old people harp on about how wonderful comics were “back in the day” sometimes we do need to take off the rosetinted spectacles and admit that, dear lord, the writing and dialogue was more often than not truly cringeworthy in those old silver age comicbooks. 😀
Also, they forgot one of Jack-Be-Nimble’s titles. The Duke of Douchebags. 😀
They cut that title due to..uh… spacing issues. Yeah, spacing ossues and certainly no other reason.
The crowning achievement of this will be when one side or another can recruit someone whose power is vacuum creation fueled by speech patterns.
Bad pun = vacuum a room, 10 combo alliteration = vacuum a mall.
