Denver Comic Con
June 30 - July 2, 2017
Our ret-conned intro continues. Was I too subtle with the Baron’s accent?
Oof. >.< Congrats guys, that last pun with Tank literally made my brain hurt. Well done, you two, lol.
The ironic thing is that I don’t much like puns, but I seem to be able to come up with some pretty awful ones.
Were there any (in-universe) movies or serials made about The Specialists? What about a radio program?
Actually, you guys could make a radio program for The Specialists for podcasting, not unlike the Captain America Adventure Hour for the Agent Carter series. Only–you know–better.
You might be on to something. Stay tuned.
A radio program/podcast for The Specialists is something I think both Shawn & I would really dig, but it’s not something we could fit into time we have available for creative pursuits. Never say never though….
Great shades of Inspector Kemp from “Young Frankenstein”(Fronk-en-steen)!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn69PxYOqZU
I guess the Baron follows in Kemp’s footschtropps. WHAT!!? Footschtropps! Footschrtropps! (Clomp, clomp, clomp!)
shtop? shpirited? I thought he was german, not scottish. (shcottish)
Changing “S”es to “SH”es is a common element of the bad German accent as well.
Ssat’s not funny! *Slap!*
(lousy little Monty Python Flying Circus reference)
Well, you didn’t use “meine” for “my”, you didn’t spell “Captain” with “K”, and you didn’t use “nein” for “no”, so perhaps you were….a little subtle. ^^
Damn. I’ll have to step it up.
This definitely comes off like a serial installment.
Those lucky kids back then, getting an epidode of Flash Gordon AND a Specialists episode before a couple cheapie features!
Needs more umlauts. And those funny double-s thingies that look like Bs.
Ah, you mean the ß. Those are really hard to find in most font sets and even harder to make without a German keyboard.
Don’t even get me started on the frigging SCHWA(Upside-down ‘e’ thing).
😀 Luckily, not an issue with written German, just when writing phonetics. And the ə is used in a lot of languages btw.
On unix systems it is quite easy: ss for ß, “a for ä, ee for ə, etc. No German keyboard required.
Oh, please! I’m German and I hate the friggin’ ß thing! It is actually called ‘sz’ (closest english pronounciation I can think of : ass-tset) and should have been taken to a back alley and shot in the neck decades ago.
Aagh! The puns!!! THE PUNS!!!
Steel yourself! I zinc it might get worse! (If I got a nickel for every pun I came up with…)
I did nazi zat komming…
Why is he using their English translations instead of Die Hexe, Geist, and Panzer?
This is an in-universe US comic published for propaganda purposes(BUY WAR BONDS!)
It’s not a comic, but it is propaganda intended for U.S. audiences.
… I’m guessing that this’s a dream sequence or somesuch…
