Denver Comic Con
June 30 - July 2, 2017
Ive been reading since you first started the specialists and i must say it makes my monday morning when i see your update in my rss feed, please keep up the amazing work and pleasing visuals
Thank you so much, Flemon! Comments like that make it all worthwhile!
Excellent! I was feeling a need for some comic book sound effects … Krakoom !
We were also tempted to have Golem saying “Oh yeah!” as be burst through the wall, Kool-Aid Man style, but we decided against it.
I’m enjoying this comic a great deal. Thank you!
Hey Sam. Thank you for reading!
he’s got some skills ^^
A robot like this would be awesome, but you’ll still need 400000 dollars to fire this weapon … for 12 seconds.
Yeah, but don’t you find superhero comics to be much more fun when everyone appears to be able to create stuff without any sort of budgetary constraint? Did you ever stop and wonder what the Fantastic Four’s electric bill was like?
My favorite page yet!
(For those who don’t know, this is Denver Brubaker, creator of the webcomic The Checkered Man. Click on his name to check it out!)
So where does he attach the gun also does he have gyroscopes or something thats some balancing act with the truck
To be honest, we don’t spent a lot of time thinking about those kinds of mechanical details. It’s all just comic book magic.
Didn’t we talk at one point about The Golem having machine guns or rockets (or some sort of weaponry) contained in one or both of the forearms? It would pop out of a hatch when needed and remain hidden when not. Maybe I imagined that.
Anyway, I think–based on this page–that it’s safe to assume that weapons (or other useful mechanisms) can be bolted to the forearms when needed.
That was a concept that came up in the early stages, but in the end, it seemed a little too Inspector Gadget-y. I like it better that Golem is fairly simple. He’s just big and strong and bulletproof. Weapons can be bolted on as needed, but that’s incidental.
